IVSA Croatia was officialy established in 1992., but has been active for a much longer time, with some IVSA exchange-files dating over 60 years. It is the one and only IVSA chapter in Croatia, considering the existance of only one Faculty of Veterinary medicine. Counting over 60 members from aroud the country, IVSA Croatia  is a member organisation of IVSA Global, the largest veterinary student's association in the world.

IVSA Croatia takes part in exchange programmes with various countries of IVSA family, including individual and group exchanges organised throughout the year. In december of 2017., Zagreb was a host of the 3rd TNT (Training new trainers) programme  that among others, promotes improving soft skills and communication in veterinary profession.

Croatia was nominated to be a host of the 68th Congress in July of 2017., at the IVSA Congress in Malaysia, while being elected later same year, at the IVSA Symposium in South Africa. Ever since, IVSA Croatia has put a lot of work, effort, but among all – love into organising this event, to be sure to display the warmest welcome and present all the beauties of this country in the best possible way. Looking back in time, Croatia has already been a host of 45th IVSA Symposium in 1996., as well as the 51st IVSA Congress in 2002., and we are delighted to be chosen again to host such a large international event. It is a great honor to welcome such a gathering that connects veterinary students with different backgrounds and cultures all over the world, meanwhile promoting veterinary science and profession.
