NATIONAL PARK „RISNJAK“

Risnjak National park, located in between coastal and the continental part of Croatia, connecting the Alps and Dinaric mountain range. It contains over 1100 flora species and is known for being habitat of all three European large animals - bear (Ursus arctos) , wolf (Canis lupus) and lynx (Lynx lynx). Name "Risnjak" derives from croatian word for lynx - "ris", as it is the animal that was mostly seen in this area in the past. Throughout the years lynx has been categorized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature as the Red list species, with highlighting the risk this animal has of being endangered. Risnjak is also home to numerous animal species including insects, amphbians, reptiles, as well as birds like hawks, owls, woodpeckers and many other.

“FRESHWATER AQUARIUM AND RIVER MUSEUM“ IN KARLOVAC WITH A TRIP TO  OZALJ

This tour to "Freshwater aquarium and River museum" in the city of Karlovac, with a visit to the medevial town Ozalj will sure take you back in time. City of Karlovac, also called "City of four rivers", was built in 16th century as a star-shaped military fort. Today, it is the intersection of fresh water biodiversity due to it's particularly suitable location. The Aquarium was made as the result of acknowledging natural and cultural heritage of this area, with highlighting the element of water. Ozalj is city included in Karlovac county, built on a gorge in medevial times, between dense forest hills and the river of Kupa. In 18th century, during it's golden age, it was transformed into a gorgeous castle as it is seen today. All the people who have visited this small town agree that it is one of Croatia's hidden treasures which will shortly be discovered.

STATE STUD FARM „ĐAKOVO“

Established in 1506., which qualifies it to be one of the oldest stud farms of Europe. This area of east Croatia is known for a long tradition of horse breeding. This state farm with the biggest indoor riding hall in Croatia has welcomed numerous equine lovers all around the world. Besides the spatious hall, it hosts horse jumping, harness racing and dessagne competitions. The most famous breed – „Lipizzan breed“ dates back to the 16th century, when it was developed by the support of the Habsburg monarchy, but the proper breeding didn't start until the 19th century. Today, majority of the Lipizzan horses are registered trough member organisations of the Lipizzan International Federation (LIF), which covers over 11 thousand horses in 19 different countries. The tourist attraction of the Stud Farm encompasses cultural, historic, rural and traditional experience of the Eastern Slavonia region, while at the same time giving an overall experience of pleasure that comes from spending time with horses.
