National park „Plitvice“

Except being the oldest and largest national park in the Republic of Croatia,  ever since 1949., it was internationally recognised and  listed at UNESCO World Heritage List in October, 1979. The park is situated in the mountainous region of Croatia. With its exceptional natural beauty, this area has always attracted nature lovers. The park is primarily covered in forest vegetation, with smaller areas under grasslands. The most attractive part of the park – the lakes – cover just under 1% of the total park area. The lake system is comprised of 16 named and several smaller, unnamed lakes, cascading one into the next. The lake system has been divided into the Upper 12 lakes and Lower 4 lakes which all end in impressive waterfall – “Sastavci”, with the Korana river springing under the base of the falls. Besides the beautiful lakes, Plitvice as a habitat has a great importance for the diversity and abundance of flora and fauna cointained in the area.

It was decided that the baby bear is sent to rehabilitation at the Zagreb zoo, considering he was extremly young and couldn’t survive on it’s own. He is now a newest addition to the Zagreb zoo!

Paintball

Unforgettable experience in the middle of Sljeme, in abandoned hospital named Brestovac. Team against Team. Eliminate all players. Plan and attack the hospital. Capture the flag of the opposite team and win! After this adventurous shock, you can relax with barbeque and beer whilst telling your war stories.

Sljeme is the mountain peak of Medvednica just north of Zagreb, seen as one of the most recongnizable Zagreb sights. It is visited in warmer and colder part of the year, with having it’s own skiing trail, for which the famous ski names such as Janica and Ivica Kostelić, Nika Fleiss, Istok Rodeš etc. were there to train for the first time. Medvednica’s forest certainly is favourite excursion destination for the local citizens and their guests, especially in warmer part of the year. The mountain is criss-crossed by numerous paths and trails, less demanding ones that are fitted with benches and information boards, and those more demanding suitable for more serious mountaineers. The ruins of the medieval town Medvedgrad are one of the most popular sites on Medvednica. Located around the summit are numerous mountain lodges where visitors, hikers and climbers can rest and restore their energy with popular “Sljeme” specialties such as bean soup with sausages and apple or cottage-cheese strudel.

Wine road tour

Isn't it interesting that wine has been produced in coastal area of today's Croatia since five centuries B.C.? That is right, wine is in Croatia's cultural heritage. And what is even more interesting is that more than 50% of wineyards in country are not registered to sell their wine, as they have it more for fulfilling their own needs. Our wine regions are divided into two major parts – continental and maritime, which diferentiate in typical sorts of wine they produce. Croatia is in a zone with favorable conditions for cultivating wine grape, and because of different climatic conditions, there is a great variety of cultivars, some of which are specific for our area and they have been determined to be our autochthonous sorts. Rich tradition is kept alive with various wine festivals organised all over Croatia. We will take you on a trip down the winery road to take a sip of our culture and show you why Croatian wines win international prizes!
